Gandhinagar, Aug 27 (Inditop.com) The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of Gujarat police will shortly seek the transit remand of a Lashkar-e-Taiba suspect who was nabbed by Delhi Police two days ago at a railway station in the capital, an official said Thursday.

The alleged Lashkar operative is wanted by Gujarat police in connection with the Feb 19, 2006 bomb blast in the Karnavati Express at the Kalupur railway station in Ahmedabad, resulting in injury to 21 passengers, a home department official said.

“The accused is also wanted by Maharashtra Police for his links with certain terror elements in the Beed town of Aurangabad district in Maharashtra,” the official said.

Delhi Police had seized a Pakistani passport issued in the name of Yusuf and a voter identity card issued by the Jammu and Kashmir authorities in the name of Saleem Mohammed from him.

The Lashkar suspect is also accused of offering training to terrorists in the Bharuch and Valsad regions.

The Gujarat ATS will bring the accused to Ahmedabad after Delhi Police has completed its round of questioning. The leads provided by Delhi Police would also be useful in knowing the larger plan of the terrorist group, the official said.
