Jammu, Aug 22 (Inditop.com) A militant of terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideen was killed Saturday in a shootout with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district, while another reportedly escaped to neighbouring Himachal Pradesh, police sources said.

The militant identified as Muddasir Ahmad was killed in the gun battle, which started after security forces raided their hideout in the mountainous Gandoh area following a tip-off.

Mushtaq Khandey, divisional commander of the Hizbul Mujahdeen, however, escaped in an injured condition to Himachal Pradesh’s Chamba district area, after the shootout in Gandoh, about 200 km northeast of Jammu, police sources said.

The state police have alerted the police in Chamba in Himachal Pradesh about the possible escape of the Hizbul commander to their area, the sources added.
