Baghdad, April 8 (Inditop) Seven people were killed and 23 others injured Wednesday in a bomb explosion near a shrine in Iraq’s Shia holy district of Kadhmiyah, an official said.

The bomb exploded in a crowded area near the Shareif al-Radhi shrine in Kadhmiyah district, north of the Iraqi capital, an interior ministry official said requesting anonymity.

Women and children were among the victims, the official said.

The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals.

This was the second blast in a Shia neighbourhood in the past two days in Iraq.

Earlier, eight people were killed and 14 others injured when a bomb exploded near a Shia mosque in Baghdad.
