Kabul, May 3 (Inditop) Three civilians including two children were killed and eight wounded Sunday in a roadside bomb blast in southern Afghanistan, the interior ministry said.
The victims, including an eight-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy, were killed in the blast at a main market in Gerishk district of southern Helmand province Sunday morning, the ministry said in a statement.
Eight others including a policeman were also wounded in the attack, said the statement, which held the “enemies of Afghanistan”, a term often used to describe the Taliban militants, responsible for the attack.
The southern region is the main hub for Taliban insurgency. The militants rely heavily on use of roadside attacks as part of their seven-year-old insurgency against the Afghan government and its international military allies.
