Thieves steal stereos from 20 cars in Gurgaon
Gurgaon, March 7 (IANS) Thieves struck in the posh Sector 15 of Gurgaon, the capital’s suburban town in Haryana , and stole stereos from 20 cars, police said Sunday.
“There is no eyewitness as the residents got to know about the thefts Sunday morning when the cleaner come to clean the cars. He informed the residents and people checked their cars. The thieves had cut the window glass and stolen stereos from almost 20 cars parked outside,” said a senior police officer.
Residents blamed lack of security in the area for the incident. They claimed that last year too such cases were reported. The residents complained that there is hardly any patrolling by police in the area.
“The guard of the colony has not returned after Holi vacation and that might have prompted the thieves to target this area,” said Mukesh Jain, a resident of sector 15.
“We all parked our vehicles in front of our houses but now the cars are not safe even there. Anyone can enter the colony and no one will ask you,” said Rajat Kumar, another resident of the area.
“We are taking the finger print details and are investigating the matter. We are also taking help of the investigators of previous incidents. A case has been registered and further investigations are on,” said a senior police officer.
