Arterton doesn’t want to be a ‘pigeonholed’ actress

London, March 7 (IANS) Hollywood actress Gemma Arterton says she is always “realistic” about her career and plans her roles so they boost her profile.

The British actress only took on the part as Bond girl Agent Fields in “Quantum of Solace” because she thought it would boost her profile and help her attract bigger and better roles, reports gossipblender.com.

“There is this realistic, business side to me, and I think that’s informed my career a lot. You have to be savvy. You need to be a known actress to get the really good parts, so you need to make sure you’re in something that people see. Then hopefully you get the chance to have the creativity later,” she said.

“You might get pigeonholed and recently I’ve been worrying if my career is going the way I planned it. I hope people don’t see me just as a Bond girl. I hope they’ll soon see my work and think differently,” she added.

The 24-year-old “RocknRolla” actress hopes her early career choices will pay off so she can now select the challenging roles she wants.

“It’s funny how it turns out, but it’s only early days. And hopefully now I’m in a position to choose the stuff I want to do,” she said.
