Comedian Sunil Pal was kidnapped in Meerut and held for ransom after being lured there for a fake comedy show. The kidnappers extorted ₹7.5 lakh, used it to buy jewelry, and gave Pal ₹20,000 for his return flight. Meerut jewelers reported the suspicious transactions after being contacted by police, aiding the investigation.
