Shiromani Akali Dal leaders, following a religious edict by the Akal Takht, carried out penance at the Golden Temple. They performed voluntary service, including cleaning toilets and washing utensils, as atonement for decisions made during their political tenure. Sukhbir Badal and Sukhdev Dhindsa, despite health issues, also participated in the act of ‘sewa’ as a symbolic gesture of repentance.
