Khartoum, Sep 22 (Xinhua) At least 100 people were killed in clashes between two rival groups in southern Sudan, officials said Monday.

Thousands of armed men from the Lou Nuer tribe attacked a village of a rival group in Jonglei state Sunday, killing at least 100 people, the UN Mission in Sudan (UNMIS) said.

Last month, at least 185 Lou Nuer tribesmen have been killed in fighting with a rival group in Jonglei. Some 2,000 people have been killed in violence so far this year in the country.
