Jakarta, Sep 15 (DPA) At least 12 people were killed and 25 were missing when flash floods swept homes in a district in Indonesia’s North Sumatra province Tuesday, the health ministry said.
Floodwaters submerged homes in Mandailing Natal district before dawn following heavy rains, said Rustam Pakaya, head of the ministry’s crisis centre.
More than 2,000 people were displaced, he added.
“Our team is on the way to the location to provide emergency relief,” Rustam said.
