London, Jan 4 (IANS) Up to 15 cats have died after a fire broke out Friday at a cattery, a place that houses or breeds cats for commercial purposes, in Britain’s Staffordshire, a media report said.

Two or three cats reportedly escaped into nearby woods, while two were treated by vets for smoke inhalation following the fire at the Pinetrees Cattery in Huntington, Cannock, the Telegraph reported.
The owner of the cattery, Lynn Durnall, said 15 cats may be dead but could not confirm.
Fire officials said the blaze broke out around 5.30 a.m. probably due to an electrical fault within one of the pens.
The building that was destroyed was predominately a wooden structure.
