Islamabad, May 15 (IANS) At least 17 suspected terrorists were killed on Friday when Pakistan military jets bombarded their hideouts in North Waziristan tribal agency.
According to security sources, the aerial strikes targeted three militant dens in Shawal district, also destroying four vehicles belonging to the terrorists, Geo News reported.
The airstrikes came two days after terrorists stormed a bus in Karachi and killed 46 people belonging to the Ismaili community, a sub-sect of Shias.
The airstrikes were part of operation Zarb-e-Azb and the latest push by the military to flush out terrorists from the restive tribal agencies on Pakistan’s northwestern borders with Afghanistan.
