Hong Kong, Sep 11 (IANS) A total of 384 ivory tusks worth 10.85 million Hong Kong dollars have been seized from two shipping containers coming from Tanzania, officials said.

Ports and Maritime Customs officers found the tusks, weighing 1,550 kg, inside two containers shipped to Hong Kong from Tanzania, at the Tsing Yi Container Terminal late Thursday, Hong Kong Customs Department officials were quoted as saying by Global Times.

The officials said the content of the containers was declared as packages of dried fish.

Two men, aged 46 and 48, have been arrested in this connection.

If found guilty, they are liable to a maximum fine of two million Hong Kong dollars and seven years in prison.
