Rome, Dec 1 (IANS) Stephan El Shaarawy scored a brace as AC Milan came from a goal down to beat Catania 3-1 in the Italian football Serie A.
Nicola Legrottaglie opened the scoring after 11 minutes with a powerful header. But Catania suffered a meltdown when midfielder Pablo Barrientos was sent off three minutes after the break Friday, reports Xinhua.
The ‘Rossoneri’ swiftly capitalised with goals from El Shaarawy and Kevin-Prince Boateng.
The result lifted Massimiliano Allegri’s side up to the seventh spot in the standings – two points above Catania.
