Dhaka, July 11 (IANS) Bangladesh issued a commemorative postage stamp Sunday to mark the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
Post and Telecommunications Minister Raji Uddin Ahmed Raju released the stamp, which, officials said, will be used alongside regular-issue stamps in the soccer-loving country, Xinhua reported.
Though the favourite sport in Bangladesh is cricket, the nation’s 162 million people are also passionate about football, even though the country has never qualified for any major international football tournament.
