Munich, April 29 (IANS) German football club Bayern Munich have extended their kit sponsorship with sports wear giants Adidas till 2030 in a contract which is reportedly worth 645 million pounds.
Adidas’ current deal with Bayern still has five years to go but they extended the contract by a further 10 years on Tuesday night.
“With this extension of the contract until 2030 Adidas will continue its long partnership with FC Bayern München,” Adidas spokesman Oliver Brüggen was quoted as saying by dailymail.co.uk.
The mega-deal is short of the 750 million pounds that the manufacturer shelled out to secure their kit deal with Premier League club Manchester United in July 2014.
Adidas own a 8.3 percent stake in Bayern and Brüggen added they would “in the future continue to work on co-operations with top teams and federations in international football”.
The news of the deal came after Pep Guardiola’s side lost to arch-rivals Borussia Dortmund in the German Cup semifinal which ended their hopes of clinching a treble this season.
