Los Angeles, April 25 (IANS) Writer Michael Green has been hired to pen the screenplay for upcoming superhero movie “The Wolverine 3”, which is expected to mark Hugh Jackman’s last performance as the clawed mutant.
Green is one of the four writers of 2011’s superhero movie “Green Lantern” starring Ryan Reynolds. He also co-wrote a long-delayed sequel to Ridley Scott’s “Blade Runner” and helped polish Jack Paglen’s script for Scott’s “Prometheus 2”, reports aceshowbiz.com.
James Mangold is confirmed to return as a director for the third installment of the “Wolverine” movie.
His other Fox movie “The Deep Blue Good-by” is currently put on hold after the lead actor Christian Bale suffered torn knee ligaments in an accident at his home.
“The Wolverine 3” will be released Stateside on March 3, 2017. It is expected to go into production early next year. In the meantime, Fox is preparing for “X-Men: Apocalypse” with director Bryan Singer and is due May 27, 2016.
