Toronto, Oct 3 (IANS) British comedian Russell Brand was forced to cancel a show in Canada after he was stopped by customs officials at the airport and denied entry to the country.

Brand flew into Canada Oct 1 ahead of a stand-up gig at the Casino Rama venue in Orillia that night, but he was held up at immigration control and subsequently stopped from entering, reports dailystar.co.uk.

‘Help! I’m gonna be late for Casino Rama show unless someone can force Canadian customs officials to let us land in Orillia!… How do you manipulate customs officials? Wasn’t Hitler’s father a customs officer? I’m pretty sure he was… Let me in! I must perform at Casino Rama, Orillia tonight at 9 for 5,000 Canadians,’ the 36-year-old posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.

He later confirmed he had been forced to axe the show after he was denied entry, adding, ‘Tonight’s Casino Rama show postponed. I’m sorry. I can’t enter Canada. We must abolish the borders between our nations and our minds.’

He did not mention the reason why he was stopped.
