London, July 20 (IANS) A Royal International Air Tattoo was held over the weekend to mark the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

The Battle Of Britain pitted the German Luftwaffe against Britain’s Royal Air Force (RAF) and its allies during World War-II (WWII). It resulted in victory for the allied forces despite being outnumbered and is regarded as a major turning point of the War.
Thw show, held over the weekend, saw 14 vintage aircraft from Britain and Europe gather at RAF Fairford, Gloucestershire, for a special flypast, watched by three veteran pilots who took part in the Battle of Britain, Xinhua reported.
The Red Arrows, the RAF’s aerobatic team, also performed during the event, which attracted tens of thousands of visitors every day.
The theme for the show was “Securing the Skies – Past, Present and Future”,
