London, Aug 8 (IANS) A British couple were ‘in shock’ after winning an 11 million pound lottery.
Peter Redikin and his wife Jacqueline hit the jackpot Wednesday night and it is the single biggest win on the Lotto since April 2008. They won 11,178,334 pounds.
The couple, from Cheadle Heath, Greater Manchester, won the lottery bonanza from the same numbers they have used since the lottery began, The Sun reported Sunday.
And now they want the good life to roll.
They plan to go on a trip on the Orient Express.
Peter said: ‘We are going to treat the family…I’ve always wanted a brand new car and have never had the chance to get one.’
‘We are still both in shock.’
He had checked the ticket just after dropping his wife at work at a call centre.
Realising that they had won, Peter said: ‘I was shaking like a leaf but I managed to call Jacqueline. She couldn’t understand me because I couldn’t get my words out and she kept telling me to calm down.’
‘When I told her we’d won the jackpot she wouldn’t believe me and thought I must be wrong.’
