Beijing, Aug 1 (IANS) China plans to launch a nationwide campaign on traffic safety following a series of fatal accidents in the country.

The public security ministry will launch the two-month campaign in August, Xinhua reported Sunday.

The main focus will be on buses and trucks. Reckless driving and overloaded cargo will be targeted.

Police will set up mobile traffic-safety checkpoints, intensify patrol and promote cooperation among the police staff during the campaign.

In a latest road accident in China, 41 people were killed and six others were injured July 22 after a bus caught fire on the Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway.
