Beijing, Dec 31 (IANS) A man in China’s Guangdong province has been detained for beating his six-year-old son to death after being tired of learning about the boy’s bad behavior at school.
According to police, Zheng Junpeng said teachers kept reporting to him that his son often used to beat his classmates and extort money since joining the school in September, Shanghai Daily reported.
The father had tried to discipline his son several times but to no avail. Last Friday, he lost his cool after a teacher complained again.
Zheng whipped his son for about half an hour while the mother was away at work. He then put the boy to bed at 11 p.m. and didn’t notice anything abnormal until 2 a.m. Then he noticed the little boy’s body was turning cold. As he switched on the light, he saw the boy’s blood seeped through his clothes.
The boy was declared dead at the hospital.
Zheng later regretted his action but said: “The child is gone. It’s meaningless to say anything.”
