Los Angeles, July 6 (IANS) Actor George Clooney will testify in a Milan court later this month as part of a fraud trial involving three men accused of using the actor’s name for a fashion label.
Clooney’s lawyer Grazia Maria Mantelli has confirmed the actor will testify as a civil plaintiff July 16.
Meanwhile, presiding judge Pietro Caccialanza insists he will ensure extra security measures are taken so that the trial goes smoothly while the Hollywood star is present.
‘There will be lot of people, I imagine. He also promised to give Clooney’s fans a chance to come close to their hero,’ imdb.com quoted Caccialanza as saying.
The case dates back to April 2008, when three men allegedly took Clooney’s name and used it for a planned fashion show at a Milan hotel. The names of the accused have not been released.
