Los Angeles, Aug 13 (IANS) British filmmaker Danny Boyle, who made it big with ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, unveiled the first look of his next film ‘127 hours’, a hair- raising action drama starring James Franco. He says his film will be ‘obsessive’.
The film tells the true story of mountain climber Aron Ralston’s (Franco) remarkable adventure to save himself after a boulder crashes on to his arm and traps him in an isolated canyon in Utah.
Over the next five days Ralston examines his life and survives the elements to finally discover he has the courage and the wherewithal to extricate himself by any means necessary, scale a 65-foot wall and hike over eight miles before he is finally rescued.
‘This movie is going to be obsessive, and it will be for obsessives. You will want him to cut off his arm by the end,’ Boyle said in a press statement.
Slated for Nov 5 release, the film also stars French actress Clemence Poesy, actress Amber Tamblyn and Kate Mara.
After ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, Boyle has once again teamed up with Fox Searchlight Pictures, producer Christian Colson and writer Simon Beaufoy for the action drama.
