Amsterdam, Oct 31 (DPA) Acclaimed Dutch post-War novelist Harry Mulisch, whose novels include ‘The Discovery of Heaven’, has died, his publisher announced Sunday.

Mulisch was 83 when he died of cancer at his home in Amsterdam Saturday night.

The author was born in Haarlem in 1927 and earned international recognition for his novels, essays and poems.

Some of his books were translated into more than 30 languages. He was regularly mentioned as a possible candidate for the Nobel literature prize.
