London, May 5 (IANS) English football club Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas hopes that the Premier League title, which they won after Sunday’s 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge, will be “the first of many”.

“The Premier League has always been a trophy that I wanted to get in my career. Hopefully it will be the first of many. I hope the future holds many trophies, many Premier Leagues, Champions Leagues and hopefully we can start building a fantastic team that next year can fight for the Premier League and Champions League,” Fabregas, who turns 28 on Monday, said, reports Efe.
“It feels great. It’s the feeling that I really wanted to get. It’s a special moment, a special trophy. The most difficult league in the world, so very proud.”
Chelsea were crowned the Premier League champions under the direction of Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho, with whose return to London put an end to the Manchester hegemony, City and United, both teams which won the tournament during the last four seasons.
Fabregas joined Chelsea from Barcelona last summer while he had previously spent eight seasons with Arsenal, from 2003 to 2011. He praised Mourinho, who persuaded him to move to Chelsea, describing him as “the best manager” and who always manages to win titles.
