Los Angeles, July 4 (IANS) One Direction star Harry Styles says the British boyband has played their best shows after the departure of Zayn Malik.
During an interview with EW magazine, the singer insisted that Malik’s absence hasn’t affected their performances, reports dailymail.co.uk.
“There have been incredible shows across Europe, some of the best we’ve had! So we’re super excited about coming to America. The only changes have been that the parts Zayn sang have been picked up by different people. Other than that, the shows have been going absolutely great,” he said.
The four-member band will launch the North American leg of their appropriately titled “On The Road… Again” world tour in San Diego on July 9.
Malik quit the chart-topping boy band in March saying that he was leaving to lead a “normal” life. Along with Styles, the band comprises of Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne.
Styles insists the group has no desire to pull songs dependent on Malik’s high-notes – among them hit single “Story of my life”.
“It would be pretty devastating if we took that song out. Liam (Payne) stepped up to do the high notes. He kicks them in the b******s every show. He doesn’t hold back. The other guys have picked up (Zayn’s) parts. We all know the songs well enough to do that,” he added.
