Sharjah, July 22 (IANS/WAM) Table linen, bedroom linen and prayer carpet sets are among the handicrafts made by orphan girls being showcased at an exhibition hosted by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation (SSEF).

The exhibition, organized at the SCCI headquarters, is part of the chamber’s corporate social responsibility and is aimed at offering a wide range of handmade products to SCCI employees, clients and visitors.

The proceeds of the event will be spent on orphans who are under SSEF’s care.

Hussein Mohammed Al Mahmoudi, director general of SCCI, said Thursday: ‘We are pleased with the positive response received from hosting this charity exhibition. Not only were we able to showcase the talent of the orphans, but we were also able to help raise funds for their benefit.’
