Galle (Sri Lanka), July 22 (IANS) Following on, India were 292 for eight in the second innings, a lead of 48 runs, at lunch on the fifth day of the first cricket Test against Sri Lanka here Thursday.
V.V.S. Laxman was batting on 58 while Ishant Sharma on 18.
Muttiah Muralitaharan, who is playing his last Test, is one wicket short of claiming 800 Test wickets.
Lasith Malinga took five for 48 while Muralitharan, who took five wickets in the first innings, added another two wickets in the second innings.
India were bowled out for 276 in the first innings in reply to Sri Lanka’s 520 for eight.
