London, July 22 (IANS) British actress Sadie Frost has revealed that she has been seeing a therapist since she was 16 years old.

The star, who describes her childhood as a ‘chaotic but sexy experience’, is the daughter of late psychedelic artist David Vaughan and actress Mary Davidson.

Her father was an alcoholic and her parents broke up when Frost was just three. Frost admits she was so affected that as a teenager she began seeing a therapist and now being 45 and a mother of four, she continues to regularly seek help, reports dailymail.co.uk.

‘Becoming a mum has made me feel more complete but I’ve also needed therapy to get there. I’ve been seeing a therapist since I was 16,’ she said.

‘Therapy isn’t something you can do overnight. I have wanted to push boundaries and overcome insecurities. I was incredibly strong-willed and quite defensive when I was 16 or 17. I was incredibly needy and dependent on people because my father had left and I was fearful of relationships and being abandoned.’

She is currently preparing for the release of her autobiography called ‘Crazy Days’. It is due to be published in October.

She has had to make changes at the last minute to the book after ex-husband Jude Law began court proceedings to halt her divulging the secrets of their turbulent marriage. The book talks about her childhood, acting career and entry into the fashion world – as well as her marriage and break-up with Law.
