More than 11,500 cases of dengue have been reported in Punjab, of which over 10,200 cases registered in Lahore, the provincial capital. The toll in the province is now 150.

Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces have also reported dengue cases. In Khyber, six deaths and 173 cases reported.

Authorities in Lahore have blamed the crisis on prolonged monsoon rains and unusually high seasonal temperatures, the news website Daily Times reported.
