London, Sep 17 (IANS) A New York hotel has left many of its visitors shocked by leaving its loos at the 18th floor in full public view.
Bathroom users at the Boom Boom Room club at the Standard Hotel in Manhattan are visible to people on the street, thanks to the 10-foot windows lining the walls. It has alarmed some unaware toilet-goers as there is no warning sign that their bare behinds will be seen, and sometimes photographed, by strangers below, Daily Mail reported.
Visitors to the hotel in New York City get stunning views of the city below through floor-to-ceiling windows. But, unfortunately, people on the street can see them too.
The windows are visible to tourists visiting the High Line park, a public area built on an historic freight rail line elevated above the streets on Manhattan’s Meatpacking district.
Rows of bathrooms line the walls of the building with users sitting close enough to the windows for passersby to see them sitting and relieving themselves. There are no curtains or blinds on the windows for customers to avoid giving jaw-dropping views to the tourists below.
The toilet users include people visiting the club and a rooftop lounge at the hotel, favoured by celebrities, including Leonardo DiCaprio and Cameron Diaz.
