London, Sep 14 (IANS) Actress Jennifer Lopez has reportedly clinched a $12 million deal to be a judge on ‘American Idol’.
The singer-actress has been in negotiation with the show bosses about joining the panel following the departures of Simon Cowell, Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi.
According to earlier reports, Lopez was asking for $15 million and also demanded for a film and TV programme from the companies which produce ‘American Idol’ — Fox, Fremantle, and 19 Entertainment.
But her demands for a film and TV programmes were turned down.
‘She was angling for an overall deal at Fox, including a put picture, to keep her movie career going. But Fox said no,’ contactmusic.com quoted a source as saying.
Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler may also join Lopez on the panel.
