Kuala Lumpur, Aug 28 (DPA) Police in Malaysia have launched a manhunt for a Pakistani man who jumped bail after being charged with raping and sodomising his 15-year-old stepdaughter, reports said Monday.
The accused, 29, was arrested in September 2006 after his Malaysian wife lodged a report against him, alleging that he had raped and sodomised her daughter, the Star daily reported.
He was charged with 12 counts of rape and two counts of carnal intercourse, and had posted bail but did not turn up in court July 2, prompting a warrant of arrest to be issued.
The mother, who married the suspect in December 2005, found out about the abuse when her daughter informed her.
Police in the capital Kuala Lumpur have urged the public to come forward with information.
