Beijing, May 31 (IANS) A stray dog in China has followed a group of cyclists 1,800 km to their destination in a heart-wrenching 20-day trip.
The dog, nicknamed Xiaosa, followed the cyclists on the Sichuan-Tibet Highway, giving them encouragement all the way to Lhasa.
The cyclists are now planning to bring her to their hometown in central Hubei province.
Xiaosa ran 50 to 60 km every day and never fell behind, the People’s Daily reported Monday.
The cyclists began their journey May 4. They threw her a drumstick and to their surprise, the homeless dog held on to them and would not let go.
