Buenos Aires, Jan 29 (IANS) Former Argentinian football legend Diego Maradona has confirmed he would continue working with FIFA presidential candidate Prince Ali bin Al Hussein of Jordan.

“I would like to clear up the rumours which indicate that I no longer work with Prince Ali bin Al Hussein of Jordan. They are completely false,” the former star wrote on his Facebook account, reports Xinhua.
Al Hussein on Wednesday publicly ruled out the pair were working together on his candidacy despite highlighting that Maradona was his friend.
“On Monday we will meet to continue working on his candidacy for FIFA president. I am completely behind him because he is a hardworking, good person,” said the 1986 World Cup winner.
The Jordanian prince “is not one of those that left FIFA through the back door,” said Maradona in reference to the high-ranking footballs executives reported for their alleged involvement in corruption.
The elections will take place on February 26.
Maradona and the Jordanian prince have been friends for a long time and former Argentina coach gave his support to his friend last year when the prince lost the elections to Swiss Joseph Blatter.
Since the end of 2015, Blatter has been suspended for eight years for violating the FIFA’s ethics.
