Mumbai, July 18 (Inditop.com) The US does not want to get involved in the India-Pakistan row over Jammu and Kashmir, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said in remarks telecast Saturday.

Asked by Times Now TV if Washington felt it had a role to play in the decades-old dispute, Clinton said any final decision over Kashmir had to be between India and Pakistan.

She added that the wishes of the Kashmiri people also needed to be taken into account.

“There is no resolution without India and Pakistan. So our role is not to be involved other than to support the process (by) India and Pakistan.”

India and Pakistan dispute the ownership of Jammu and Kashmir and control parts of the region. New Delhi accuses Islamabad of backing separatists active in Indian Kashmir.
