Sochi, Feb 8 (IANS) Norway’s Marit Bjoergen won her fourth Olympic title in the women’s skiathlon at the Olympics here Saturday.

The 33-year-old also became the most successful Olympian from her country and one of the greatest cross-country skiiers in history. Bjoergen pulled away from Sweden’s Charlotte Kalla on the final straight to win in 38 minutes and 33.6 seconds, reports Xinhua.
Kalla took the silver in 38:35.4 and another Norwegian Heidi Weng won the bronze in 38:46.8.
Bjoergen, who won three golds at the 2010 Vancouver Games, also became the oldest individual female Winter Games gold medallist in the sport.
“One gold was my goal, so now I can relax a little bit. I can enjoy the rest of the Games,” she said.
