Beijing, June 24 (IANS) Over 165,000 drug crime suspects were caught in China in 2014, according to a report released on Wednesday.

Sixty percent of the 169,000 captured were under the age of 35 and nearly 90 percent did not finish middle school, Xinhua news agency reported.
The Report on Drug Situation in China 2014, the first such report released by the Chinese government, said drug smuggling is rampant these days and it is “more and more organised and professional and carried out in covert and cunning ways and through multiple and constantly changing channels”.
“While traditional drug trafficking such as concealment in human bodies or cars, and trafficking by road are still in use, new methods have emerged, such as trafficking online, by post, by air express and through the logistics system,” the report said.
