London, June 19 (IANS) Indo-Canadian tennis pair of Leander Paes and Daniel Nestor won their men’s doubles quarterfinal in straight sets to enter the last four of the 1.5-million-euro Queen’s Club Championships here.

The third seeds defeated Spanish duo of Rafael Nadal and Marc Lopez 7-6(3), 6-4 in an hour and 12 minutes to enter the semifinals on Thursday. They will next take on second seeds Serbian-Polish combination of Nenad Zimonjic and Marcin Matkowski on Saturday.
The match was fiercely contested on the prestigious grass courts of the Queen’s Club.
Paes and Nestor began aggressively but both pairs broke each other once in the first set to take the set into a tie-breaker. Paes-Nestor made full use of their experience to clinch the tie-breaker to go one set up.
Indo-Canadian pair started the second set on a positive note, saving the only break point they faced and broke their opponent once in three opportunities. That break was enough for them to seal the set and match.
