Islamabad, April 13 (IANS) The Supreme Court on Monday rejected a plea seeking to stop drone attacks being carried out in Pakistan.

Petitioner Iqtidar Haider in his petition said the tribal areas are part of Pakistani territory and it is the responsibility of the country’s air force to defend it, ARY News reported.
A three-member bench of the apex court heard the petition.
Justice Saqib Nisar, in his remarks, said the petition against drone strikes does not come in the ambit of the constitution.
“How can the court order war to stop drone attacks,” Nisar asked.
Later, the bench dismissed the petition against drone strikes in the tribal region.
