Islamabad, Dec 2 (IANS) The Pakistan Senate Friday passed a unanimous resolution which said that in case of foreign aggression, the nation would stand united for the country’s defence.

The resolution was tabled by Leader of Opposition in the Senate Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, the Dawn News reported.

Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar said that in the wake of the NATO attack, it had become difficult to remain on the same page with the US.

Khar said the decision to boycott an international conference on the future of Afghanistan to be held in Bonn was ‘well thought out’ and there was no possibility of reviewing it.

A majority of lawmakers asked the government to review Pakistan’s relations with the US, said the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP).

Ghafoor Haideri said he fully endorsed the government’s decisions not to allow supplies to NATO forces through Pakistani territory, to ask the US to vacate the Shamsi air base, and to boycott the Bonn conference.

He urged the government to stick to its decisions as they ‘reflect people’s aspirations’, the APP said.
