Tehran, Feb 15 (DPA) Portugal’s Carlos Queiroz has rejected an Iranian offer to coach the country’s national football team, the head of the Iranian football federation (FFI) has said.

‘All of Queiroz’s requests had been accepted by us, but he informed tonight and that he could not accept the offer for private reasons,’ Ali Kafashian said on the TV sports programme 90.

According to Kafashian, all technical and financial details were accepted by Queiroz, but apparently his family members were not ready to live in Iran for the next three years.

Sports media in Tehran reported Monday that the deal with the former Portugal, South Africa and Real Madrid coach was almost finalized, and Queiroz had even appointed his three assistants.
