London, July 7 (IANS) Socialite Kim Kardashian has revealed that fictional Disney cartoon character Princess Jasmine is her idol because she helped her overcome her body issues.
The curvaceous socialite, who was recently immortalised as a waxwork at New York’s Madame Tussauds waxwork museum, used to look up to Princess Jasmine of ‘Alladin’ because she looked the same as her.
‘It’s good for women to have a role model. I remember ‘Aladdin’ came out when I was young – I was obsessed with Princess Jasmine as I looked just like her. And I admired Sophia Loren and looked to her body shape,’ she said.
‘So if I can help anyone feel more comfortable in their skin, I’m all for it. I say, ‘Be proud of who you are. Be proud to have boobs. Love your butt. Be proud to be a curvy woman because curves are sexy!’ she added.
Kardashian also suffered cruel taunts from bullies at school, reports contactmusic.com.
‘I was 11 when I started developing boobs and a butt, and it made me feel uncomfortable. The girls at school made fun of me, and when I looked at magazines, everyone was so skinny and that wasn’t me.’
‘Luckily, in my family, curvy was normal. What got me through was being close to my mom. She talked to me and my sisters and told us to be proud of who we are. She gave us confidence.’
