Dhaka, Nov 2 (IANS) Kalim Sharafi, known for singing Rabindranath Tagore’s songs in Bangladesh and India, died at his residence here Tuesday. He was 85, a media report said.

Born in Birbhum, now in West Bengal, India, Sharafi participated in the Quit India Movement in 1942.

He received the first Rabindra Award 2010 for his contribution in promoting and preserving Rabindra Sangeet, the Daily Star said.
