Moscow, June 1 (IANS/RIA Novosti) A Russian foundation has launched a hotline on the internet to fight the promotion of drug use, the foundation’s director has said.

Friendly Runet foundation director Yevgeny Bespalov said the hotline would be supported by the interior ministry cyber crimes department.

Internet users would be able to use the hotline to complain about any content that they believe promotes drug use.

Friendly Runet previously launched a child pornography hotline, with 22,000 complaints filed in 2010 that led to 24 criminal cases.

Russia has an estimated 2.5 million drug users.
