Moscow, Oct 15 (IANS/RIA Novosti) A Russian gang of six people are on trial for running a brothel inside a wedding registration office, officials said Monday.
The brothel in Achinsk town of Krasnoyarsk region was operated with 11 women, including three minors, the General Prosecutor’s office said.
The gang, headed by Vyacheslav Durandinym, 46, and Alexander Malakhov, 38, ran the racket from 2009 to 2011.
The accused used a local sauna and apartments located in the building of the weddings registry office.
The gang took orders for the girls by telephone and delivered them to clients.
The girls were prevented from leaving the building and punished with fines and violence if they tried to escape, prosecutors said.
The gang kidnapped four of the girls and unlawfully imprisoned three of them.
Police broke up the racket in April 2011.
The gang is accused of being engaged in prostitution, organising prostitution by use of force including against minors, kidnapping, sexual offences, freedom of movement, theft and illegal arms sales.
