Paris, Aug 25 (IANS) India’s Saina Nehwal survived a fright before defeating Hsiao Huan Chen of Chinese Taipei 20-22, 21-15, 21-8 to move into the second round of women’s singles World Badminton Championships here Wednesday.
World No.2 Saina, seeded second, lost the opening game, before winning the next two against the 65th-ranked Chen in 47 minutes.
Saina will next meet the winner of the match between Malaysian Mew Choo Wong and Ella Diehl of Russia, seeded 13th.
