Beijing, April 29 (IANS) A fuel tanker burst into flames after hitting four cars in southwest China Friday, killing seven people dead and injuring four, officials said.

The accident took place at 3.55 p.m. when the tanker, loaded with industrial chemicals, crashed into four cars. Three of the vehicles caught fire after the crash, Xinhua reported citing the Safety Supervision Bureau of Sichuan province.

Firefighters rushed to the scene shortly after the accident, and managed to douse the fire and clear the site.
