Colombo, Nov 3 (DPA) A Sri Lankan judge was sacked Wednesday after he was found guilty of discharging his service weapon inside a karaoke club, an official said.

Anura Seneviratne, a magistrate and district judge in the south of the country at the time of the incident, fired his gun during a dispute over paying the bill in September, an official of the Judicial Service Commission said.

No one was hurt, but the shot damaged the club, the official added.

The judge was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident, the commission’s inquiry revealed.
